Future of Africa believes in the power for progress through fostering our talents and directing our passions toward positive change. Performance for Change is an initiative that celebrates our diverse talents, while also spreading awareness and collecting donations for Future of Africa projects. It creates a casual and fun social environment in which young people can discuss and become engaged in Future of Africa, its goals, and the issues it seeks to address.
Performance for Change provides an opportunity for individuals to further develop the skills they possess, while enabling them to share their talents as part of a larger effort to make a difference. During each act, audience members are encouraged to offer donations based on their enjoyment of each performance, creating a relaxed and friendly competition between performers.
At the end of the event, Future of Africa announces the performer(s) who received the greatest amount of donations and shows recognition and appreciation for their talent and their fundraising contribution. Performance for Change also hosts a silent auction featuring traditional African crafts, and all proceeds benefit Journey for Change the following year.
